Membership Grades

IAMP offers structured membership grades to recognize the qualifications, experience, and professional standing of individuals and organizations within the maritime industry.

Each membership grade is assessed based on defined criteria and reflects the member’s role, expertise, and contribution to maritime operations, training, and governance.

Fellow (FIAMP)

Reserved for senior maritime professionals who have demonstrated leadership, expertise, and long-standing contribution to the maritime industry.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum 8 years in senior or leadership roles within the maritime sector

  • Recognized professional distinction in maritime practice

  • Typically senior-level positions (Director, Principal, Head of Department, Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, etc.)

Full Member (FMIAMP)

For qualified maritime professionals actively engaged in maritime operations, consultancy, training, or related services.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Recognized maritime certification or qualification

  • Minimum 5 years of professional maritime experience

  • Equivalent experience subject to portfolio and professional assessment

Associate Fellow

For experienced maritime professionals who may not yet meet Fellow requirements but hold senior operational or management responsibilities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Demonstrated maritime experience at sea or ashore

  • Senior operational, technical, or shore-based management roles

  • Relevant professional background within the maritime sector

Corporate Member

For organizations aligned with IAMP’s mission and committed to professional development, safety, and international maritime standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Maritime academies, training centers, companies, or institutions

  • Support and approval of IAMP objectives and code of ethics

  • Designated staff members eligible for individual membership benefits
